This item arrived in the usual reliable Lovehoney fashion, in discreet packaging and by a tracked delivery service so I knew exactly when to expect it. I bought this with no experience of whips at all, just a vague curiosity and the convenient excuse of needing it for a Halloween costume. It really is a beautiful object, and it's very pleasing to hold and feel all the different textures. It was a defining factor in our purchase that this whip is fully synthetic - yay for vegan kink! Because of the quality of the materials, you really can't tell that it isn't leather. My partner's first reaction when I handed it over to him was to look slightly concerned and ask "are you really sure this isn't leather?" At the Halloween party we took it to, we also ran into a friend with a bit of a thing for leather and he was very impressed with it too. Everything from the gorgeously soft, supple handle to the very tip of the braided tail of the whip is top-notch quality. Because I bought it for part of a costume, I wanted something that was going to look the part, and this really does. It's also small and non-threatening enough that it could be carried around a crowded club without it being problematic (it conveniently curls around so you can even store it through belt loops, which is pretty awesome and surprisingly sexy!). Even though it is a smaller size than you'd expect for a whip, it's not easy to keep control of. It's true that you're not going to cause damage to possessions by it flailing wildly out of control behind you when you raise your arm, but, as beginners, we found it pretty difficult to use it effectively and pleasurably at first because it is hard to know where exactly you're going to hit with it, or how hard. The only previous experience we've had with hitty toys is spanking paddles, which didn't really prepare us for aiming this whip as it feels much less like an extension of your hand than a paddle does, but it is more ornamental and exciting, especially for creating roleplaying scenes. It does mean that it's a very intense experience to be whipped with it, even gently, though. It's very exciting to be anticipating the impact, and getting just one or two stinging blows that make you squeal in amongst all of the other strokes. The thing that I like most about it is how imaginative and playful you can be with each different part of this whip. All of the different materials are so sensual and decadent that you can mix up which part you're being hit with. You can even add in softer, more sensual play, tracing the handle over the skin, or tickling with the braided tail. Add in a blindfold and you've got hours of fun playing guess-the-part-of-the-whip, not to mention the punishments for incorrect guesses.... Because it can be very hard to aim, it means that you will often get impact from the long, leathery part of the whip, which delivers a smoother, heavier sort of smack which is very satisfying, especially when you're never quite certain if the braided tail part is going to whip round a split-second after and give you a sharp sting that you'll be feeling for a good while after. As well as that, you can mix things up by giving a playful little whack with the handle, which feels like sweet relief after you've had the kiss of the actual whip, and also makes a very pleasing noise as it thwacks together. So basically this does have something for everyone once you start to get creative. It's a fun learning curve once you realise that even though it's a whip, you don't just have to go full-on and use it as hard as you can! Even though it can feel a little intimidating at first, stick with it, it really is worth it.

The anticipation brings a lot of pleasure also. This whip very much has a sting! So make sure he warms you up with a good hand spanking. But as long as you have a caring partner that knows your limits, you will enjoy the whole scene. Told it leaves beautiful marks.
