I hadn’t seen a picture of the Lovehoney Time to Shine 6 inch Metallic Dildo before receiving it for review and wasn’t sure what to expect. I wasn’t disappointed to find a rugged but beautiful dildo in swirling shades of silver and grey. It manages to look dominant and dangerous yet inviting at the same time. The head is large and swollen, with prominent veins running down the thick, straight shaft which extends to a full 6 inches before reaching the suction base. I enjoyed examining the dildo, noticing the way the different colours mixed together. The PVC material is springy, not soft, which means it has a bit of give yet returns swiftly to its original shape. I admit to having some silly fun with it stuck firmly to the bed, bending it down to see it spring back ramrod straight to attention again. I did a sniff test and when held closely to my face there is a slight, but not unpleasant, chemical smell. As I don’t intend to put it in my mouth, this isn’t a problem for me. My partner and I enjoyed this very much! Flexible, cute colour and shape. Only small issue for me was the ridge at the end of the head - I guess the desired affect is sort of suction cup/pull feeling, however it sent me into a panic that I’d gotten the toy stuck! (Not ideal.)

Metallic silver and grey could have been so beautiful. But this really is not. The colour is about as attractive as a pensioner's metallic sandals and as sexy as an oversized pair of tights in American Tan. As for “guaranteed to glisten” it certainly doesn’t. It does look like someone has dragged a paintbrush over a freshly painted surface leaving dark grey lines on an otherwise silver dildo. Okay, so you get the idea I don’t like the look of this dildo, but onto its other credentials. It’s a slightly larger girth than most regular sized dildos at a girth of 5 inches and with an insertable length of 6 inches it measures up well. The suction cup base works quite well, and it certainly sticks to bathroom tiles with ease. There is no tab for easy removal once you're done, so be careful you don’t remove any tiles in the process of pulling it off the wall. The realistic shaped head is well defined and the ridge below the head is smooth and well-shaped. Making it easy to tease yourself or your partner. The shaft has a couple of well-defined veins that add to sensation and texture when inserted. Most of my dildos are silicone, and it’s easy to feel a difference with this PVC dildo. It’s much softer, more flexible and more squishy than most silicone dildos. This makes it easier to angle and position correctly for maximum pleasure. The flared base makes it safe for both vaginal and anal play. It would also work well in a strap-on harness. I used it with just a little water-based lube, and it does feel good, certainly delivering the goods in terms of pleasure. Personally, it was too hard and textured for my rear end and it caused some pain. I’m sure using it vaginally would be fantastic though, but I’m a dude.
