Fifty Shades of Grey Captivate Plus Size Black and Silver Basque Set

We were very excited to be offered the two-tone Fifty Shades of Grey Captivate Black and Silver Basque Set size 1x/2x as a secret tester in exchange for a review. Arriving in the usual discreet cardboard box we opened this to reveal the separate basque and matching thong in a cellophane bag and my wife’s initial impression was ‘Wow that is really beautiful and the material is great’. My wife is 5’ 6”, a pear-shaped size 18 with a long torso and sometimes struggles with clothing of this nature but the strong flexible black vertical boning immediately pulled the basque in against my wife's body beautifully, which accentuated her hourglass figure perfectly, and her 38C breasts sat wonderfully in the minimally padded cups. The silver X style design in the centre of the basque, encompassing the cups and chest edging, against the black is fantastic and the purple horizontal piping crisscrossing the torso over the vertical bones is simply stunning. The transparent black material allowed plenty to be seen whilst hiding any tummy/stretch marks/ insecurities which maximised her body confidence - to be honest, she simply looked sublime. The two adjustable straps across the shoulders draw your attention towards the chest with an additional deep cut central incision encouraging you to follow the line through the basque down towards the groin and built-in suspender straps (non-removable). The matching thong is also beautifully made with a triangle being formed at the base of the spine which again draws the eye and wonderfully frames the bottom. We teamed the basque with sheer black stockings and patent high heels which really finished the whole outfit. My wife felt amazing, confident and looked very, very, sexy. The set fitted perfectly with no bunching or squeezing anywhere and we left everything on during playtime without anything becoming uncomfortable, riding up or digging which was another huge positive whatever position we tried. First time out your partner may need some assistance to get the back done up but it’s very adjustable and as per all products easy to hand wash with minimal colour loss. This is, without doubt, the best made, best fitting, most beautiful and sexy Lovehoney garment we have to date and believe me we’ve acquired quite a few outfits over the last few years! In our mind this is an absolute must-have item and I’ll be keen to see if there are any other colours in the collection. Captivating

It has been almost a decade since Fifty Shades of Grey empowered the sexuality of the nation and Lovehoney continues to do that. Basques are possibly one of the sexiest items of lingerie available. They give the impression of a corset without the discomfort. This set is no exception. The moulded cups round and shape your bust, whilst the light boning subtlety shapes your waist. The plunging neckline is cleavage enhancing. I am a size 18-20, C cup bust, rounded tummy and bum, and the XL/2X fits beautifully. The positives are enhances whilst the not so positives are disguised. They lace detailing is absolutely stunning. It is such an unusual pattern in the prettiest of greys. The stitching on the lingerie is perfect, it is as always a high quality item. It is easy to put on and take off with the standard hook and eye fastening. The suspenders are NOT detachable but this style of Basque really needs the stockings. I have worn this with nude, black and lacy stockings. All of which look fantastic. The thong review with be brief, pun definitely intended. It adds to the outfit without taking focus away. Is it comfy? Yep, just as any other thong is. The sizing is great not to big and not too tight. Happy happy happy! My husband loves this on me. It really helps to keep each other interest after being each others only adult company for most of the year! It's great to remind him I am not just the nag who reminds him to pick up his clothes!

This is a pretty piece of lingerie, there isn't any way around it. When I unpacked it, I just looked at it for a moment, the contrast of the black and silver on the front looks amazing. I was a little concerned about all the mesh panelling on the sides showing up my tummy a bit, but once it is on, it looks amazing, so I didn't worry any more. The quality of this piece is very good and feels good to the touch, it feels great to wear, and looks good on too. There are very narrow straps for the suspender clasps, which always worries me about whether they will release or pop off, but the metal claps kept everything locked in just fine. Comfort-wise, this is a good fit for 1/2x size, and I didn't feel too squeezed in, which has been a small problem in the past. The matching thing with this set is also of good quality, and very comfortable to wear, so a bonus. All in all, really nice to wear, and very sexy to look at. you will feel amazing in this.

A basque beauty

I don't usually go for basques, but just occasionally a flip switch happens inside me and I like to try something different. I'm 5ft 11, size 16 top 18 bottom and 38Es. This is my second piece from this range (the colour combo on these totally sucked me in). The black and silver lace combination is really pretty. I actually don't think the pictures do it true justice until you get in on! So tall girls, like myself, are always sceptical about basques as they are always too short in the body. After some crazy adjusting, I have managed to get this to fit/sit pretty well. It does sit high on my hips but it gives me a good shape. There's no awkward jiggle jaggle poking out the bottom/sides or anything. I love the criss-cross design in the middle. It really enhances your waist and oh those hourglass curves start to appear! Material wise, not itchy but not super soft either. It works for me. Cup sizes are my gripe again (it was the same with my other piece). They almost remind me of 1/4 cups cause they are small! The double straps, although they are thin, do give a good amount of support. If you don't mind having some overspill, go for it. The pants are surprisingly comfy. Although thin straps (I prefer the chunky ones), I would still wear these. They work well with this piece and there's plenty front floof coverage! Overall, for a basque, I really enjoyed it. Gives you a great shape and just generally a stunning piece. Will make you feel amazing and will certainly keep your partner's eyes attached on you.

Beautiful but come up small

This basque is beautiful. However, you should size up! I am a size 18, 5ft9 tall and have a size 38/40C bust. I have many basques from Lovehoney in size 1x/2x and sizing is normally very good on me, wearing them on the middle or tightest setting. This one, however, I struggled to do up on the loosest setting and it was very uncomfortable. Please do not be put off! Just buy bigger. The basque itself is stunning. I love the way the double strap enhances the breast area, giving a good up lift and a sexy shape! The silver detail is lovely and something a little different from other lingerie. Black cross cross detailing wraps around the body, which I think looks very sexy! And for the material, it is nice, soft on the skin and it is very well constructed! Bare in mind the shoulder straps and suspender straps are quite thin on this one, unlike on a lot of other Lovehoney plus-size lingerie.

This looks great on but it wasnt a perfect fit. It fit really well around the bum and tum but was too big at the bust. The fabric is great quality and I feel fantastic wearing this.

The only other negative would be that it was packed in a tiny box so it was a little misshapen when it arrived. But honestly love it, very forgiving and makes me feel sexy

This black and silver coloured basque from the Fifty Shades Of Grey collection has a luxurious feel and is made from sheer black mesh with silver lace detail. The sides and back are made from a lovely soft, stretchy material. The silver lace detail oozes quality and is reminiscent of high-end boutique lingerie.I am a size-10 with a size 34D bust and ordered this set in size medium and it fits me perfectly. The material has some stretch to it and will therefore be a flattering fit for a range of body shapes. There are three positions of hook-and-eye running the length of the back of the basque and this ensures a perfect fit. I am 5’6” and the length of this basque is ideal for me, just reaching my bottom to reveal enough to tease. The double shoulder straps and plunge neckline gives a really sexy look.There are six plastic bones which gives a lovely smooth curved shape and is extremely comfortable to wear. The bust is underwired with soft padding. Together the soft padding and underwire provides the perfect amount of shape and uplift. There are adjustable suspender straps which are not removable which means the basque has to be worn with stockings.This set comes with a really nice matching g-string which also fitted me perfectly. It is made from black lace with the silver detail and has double straps to the back for a very sexy look.I really love this new line of Fifty Shades of Grey lingerie. The attention to even the tiniest detail along with high-quality materials and beautiful design suggests that a lot of thought has gone into making this a truly luxurious outfit.I also have the Fifty Shades of Grey Captivate Black and Silver Chemise which is also gorgeous.

Looks great on

This looks great on but it wasnt a perfect fit. It fit really well around the bum and tum but was too big at the bust. The fabric is great quality and I feel fantastic wearing this.

I really like the double shoulder straps which allude to the shape of a larger breast, and especially like the little wired cut-out between the breasts.
