Lovehoney Plus Size Moonflower Purple Lace Strappy Bra Set

With lockdown in full force, many of us are indoors most of the day. We are bored, fed up and going a little crazy from homeschooling our brood. Over-sized pyjamas is the outfit of choice in most households. Surprise delivery from Lovehoney really changed the lockdown low mood. I wasn't expecting anything to arrive but after a ring of the doorbell a parcel was on the doorstep and the postie waved from over the fence. Happy days! As always the lingerie was packed perfectly into the box and very easy to open. The deep purple really caught my eye amongst the paper packing. It is not what I call the Lovehoney purple but more a deep dark warm plum. The fabric is soft to the touch, each stitch is as perfect as the last. The quality, as always, is unbeatable. The set is easy to put on, well I had a bit of an issue until I realised it was front fastening! Once I had my ditzy moment it was a breeze, easy to adjust to the most perfect fit. The bra has a beautiful plunging neckline with the extra delicate straps enhancing and rounding each breast. The thong/knickers are glorious. Like the bra, it is easy to adjust to fit me perfectly. The high waistband is an unusual yet beautiful style. The cut out sections show just enough skin without everything being on display. The set is comfortable to wear at anytime if day or night. There is light support in the bra which is perfect for me. I am broad-backed, C cup and a size 18-20 figure. The slides to adjust the straps make this easy to fit to your size. There is plenty of room to make it bigger or smaller. It is flattering and brightens up those days indoors. My husband loves this. Not even being stuck with me and my annoying habits 24 hours a day, every day stopped him from succumbing to the beauty of the Moonflower!

Deep Purple Luxury

I was so excited when Lovehoney asked me to try this product in return for a honest review! On opening the box, the first thing I noticed was how gorgeous the deep purple colour was. Not usually a colour is go for! The deep luxurious looking purple lace with a more silky strap gave this set a real expensive high-end feel to me. I'm always a bit worried when it comes to fit as I'm just in the 'plus size' bracket (I'm a size 16/18 and 38C). I was worried in case this was going to be too big for me, but oh I was wrong. Just about every single strap is adjustable! For me every single element of this bra and knicker set fitted me perfectly after adjusting. This set is super sexy on as someone conscious about my belly. The high-waisted strap actually gave a great slimming look! I love it! This is one I will be wearing in the bedroom, but also day to day as it's so comfortable too! Gives enough support with the adjustable straps! Can't recommend this set enough. I don't have anything bad to say.

Moonflower Power

I am super excited to be writing my 100th Lovehoney review. I was considering taking some time off buying lingerie, but I saw Moonflower and thought "WANT!". I adore a strappy bra. And I think this is the first strappy bra I owned that fastens and the front (my back eternally thanks you Lovehoney). This bra set makes me feel incredible. It looks so good on, it's probably the fanciest thing I own. And I actually like how good it looks on from every angle. I am so ecstatic to own a piece like this that makes me feel this good. Everything about this bra set makes me happy, and it's decent quality too. I could not find a fault in the build. It's comfortable, it feels soft to the touch and supports me. I am continuously astounded by the output from Lovehoney. It's rare to find lingerie in my size at a reasonable price with such fashion-forward designs.

A deep purple gorgeous sensual treat

When I was initially asked if I’d be interested in receiving some new purple lingerie, I was instantly excited as not only do I absolutely love lingerie, purple is a great colour and I don’t really have anything purple. When the bra set arrived and I saw the colour I could barely contain my excitement, the deep purple colour is simply gorgeous and the name ‘Moonflower’ is perfect. The bra is a front fastener which is great as my husband can struggle trying to undo bras when he can’t see the clips and this one simply slides out the clip. The design is stunning with lace cups and matching detailing on the back offset by a wide strap to sit under the breasts and smaller straps adding some extra detailing to the upper breasts. The shoulder straps are adjustable and I was really impressed that the main strap across the back is also adjustable meaning you can get a really comfortable fit. I’m a 38C and I didn’t have to adjust the back, but having had 2 kids I did shorten the shoulder straps a bit to gain some much-needed lift! Now on to the knickers, usually I find the matching knickers in some sets to be a little boring and plain, but not these! Firstly the waistband is exactly the same material as the band on the bra and features the same adjustable section at the back. The main lace section on the front of the knickers is not fully attached to the waistband, instead, it is hooked onto a loop of strappy material with a silver hook which looks absolutely amazing. The main front is a diamond shape and attached to the side of this panel are two small straps which you put your legs through, these straps are then attached to the lace material at the back and even these are adjustable. They are a thong style brief and there are two really pretty lace panels that sit on the buttocks. I’m about a size 18-20 and the knickers fitted really well and were comfortable. Since receiving this set I’ve worn it a couple of times, the first time was purely for bedroom fun so it didn’t stay on for long, however, I have since worn this set out for an evening and it was really comfortable.

So close yet so far

With breasts and a bum as big as mine, getting a bra set is understandably nightmarish at times. One will always fit and the other is a disaster. In the case of this set, unfortunately, neither really made me feel spectacular and the fit was okay but not spot on. I’ll be honest, this felt a little bit like it had been designed for a straight size body and just scaled up for plus size, which rarely works because we need such different things out of lingerie. For reference, I’m an 18/20 on top but a 24/26 on the bottom, 40 DD/E bust, and 5’6’’ in height. Firstly, the material is undeniably lovely. The lace is pretty but also soft and stretchy. The colour is rich and washes well, though I would emphasise that it’s more of a plum in person than a cool purple. You will need to be an incredible puzzle solver if you want to get into this set. The panties took me a couple of tries and the bra frustratingly twisted on itself several times before I finally managed to figure it out. The panties are a decent fit. The width straps are entirely adjustable, which is great, but there are some fundamental issues with fitting that would impact anyone taller or shorter than me. The strap sits firmly around my waist, accentuating it true, but also letting the fabric bunch up a little if it isn’t in exactly the right spot. In addition, though sexy, the cut outs demand that you be a solid member of the flat belly brigade otherwise any lumps and bumps are exposed rather than hidden. Also, these aren’t exactly designed for sex as they aren’t crotchless and getting them off in a hurry just isn’t going to happen. The straps get horribly twisted. The bra has no underwire, which for me automatically means there needs to be a larger cup to offer support. That just doesn’t happen in this case. The back is obviously designed to make up for this, but some lack of thought in the detailing means that there is zero real support for my ladies in this bra. The worst thing, that drives me absolutely crazy, is the front clasp. As it doesn’t clip or use metal hooks, the material slips and slides around twisting and often digging into me. I found it frustrating and it meant that some of the straps just wouldn’t sit right on me. I get what they were going for, and in the three minutes when I had it on and all the straps were perfectly adjusted, placed in the right spot, and my belly was sucked all the way in, it was sexy, strappy and gorgeous. Then I moved and the illusion was shattered. I think this just needs to be a bit more specifically designed for a plus size body which needs more support and structure. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either.

Just got this

Really loved this set! So many sections of it have adjustable straps so it will fit most wearers which is amazing. If you're a person that is smaller chested though please note that the gap between the two cups is quite large and unadjustable. So the chances of a boob falling out are pretty likely. Though it's not a dealbreaker for me and I will continue to wear and love this set.

Lovely colour, very pretty, good fit, great value. It's great that you can adjust the back as well as the straps. I love the detail around the stomach, very unusual. Partner also loved it. It's not crotchless, which is unusual for Lovehoney lingerie, I think I would be better if it was crotchless.

Super Sexy

Absolutely love this lingerie set and so does my boyfriend. I'm a 10-12 and it is a comfortable fit with some give to keep the set on during play and the straps make good grips! The material is good and the detailing around the tummy really highlight my curves!

Good, but bad for me

I have a small frame so it's a hit or miss when it comes to lingerie. I'm 5'7 and 100 pounds and as for the fit the bra was supportive but the belt was very loose. It didn't really flatter my figure and I was a little dissapointed by the way it wore me. That being said the feel and quality was great, I gave it to a friend and she was much happier with it! Overall a good product, just not meant for me.

Amazing

I was nervous to buy this set as I am at the top end of the size bracket. I am usually a size 16 and was trying to decide whether to get this or the plus size. I ended up getting this one as it says up to size 16. I am so glad I did, it fits perfectly and makes me feel so sexy! It was so comfortable and soft and the material was high quality. I first saw this on Instagram and instantly fell in love. I felt comfortable in the set and absolutely adored the colour. The only issue I had was trying to get the band on the underwear to sit right. If I pulled it up so the thong sat properly, the front was too high, if I lowered it so the front sat properly, the back lace bit was slack. However, despite this, it’s the most amazing set I’ve ever bought!

Sexy cool

Modern, fun and totally sexy. This bra set is a great with the beautiful lace and strap detailing. The front fastening opening is a nice touch with a plunging neckline adds that extra sauce and the high waisted thong with cut out detailing is really flattering. I wear this day to day also. Great investment piece.

Just got this

Really loved this set! So many sections of it have adjustable straps so it will fit most wearers which is amazing.
