The Superhero of Rabbits
I've wanted to try a thruster rabbit since seeing a friend's hop across her kitchen table a while back. It was a pretty, sparkly jelly thing with all the bells and whistles, more control knobs than a NASA console but wasn't waterproof and ate AA batteries like they were carrots. It was hit or miss for her, not always guaranteeing an orgasm, and it was also the same shape as a non-thruster she'd bought for me when rabbits first came out so I knew it wouldn't work for me. I've tried a few rabbits and had seen a few more I'd considered, but had yet to take the plunge with a thruster when I was picked by Lovehoney to try this one - thank you, Lovehoney. It arrived in the usual plain box that, when Mr Postie handed over, I thought was a mistake as it was heavy enough to have contained a steel toy. Upon opening it was indeed the Swan Motion. The rabbit itself is heavy but the packaging is also pretty heavy with a magnetic closure and luxurious foam padding. Even the very welcome satin storage bag is a lot sturdier than the average satin bag (though it needs to be with this toy!). I put it on charge for 2.5 hours by sticking the USB pin into the self-healing port which was firm and easy to place. I went off to read the booklet while I waited (after my experience with my friend's rabbit I thought I'd need to). However, it turns out this is a lot simpler to use. No multiple sliders and knobs, just a power switch that illuminates while charging and on and up/down buttons. When fully-charged I started to play with the controls to see how it works. Again, this turns out to be simple. Turn off the travel lock by holding down the power button for a few seconds (it leaps twice so be prepared in case it hops out of your hand!). The power button controls the three speeds for the rabbit ears - very soft and flexible but easy to place for your own anatomy and very effective in use. The up/down buttons control the thrusting. There are seven speeds, the first of which starts very slow. The highest speed is very fast and feels like an extremely deep, penetrating vibration as well as a fast thrust. You can use both ears and thruster together or independently. The rabbit is made from a silky soft silicone that is easy to clean as it is waterproof. The creases that allow for the thrusting movement aren't close or many so there are no deep wrinkles that are hard to clean. This is a very solid and heavy toy and as I have wrist problems I thought I might have had a problem with it. However, it's very well-balanced and has well-placed control buttons that aren't fiddly, even with slippery hands. It can be used hands-free by using a pillow/rolled up towel or lodging against your legs. I've had a really good play around with this lovely rabbit over the last few days and am pleased to report that by using the above technique I had several hands-free orgasms (and as my partner was away working, my freed hands enhanced my orgasms by playing with my nipples). What more could a lonesome gal ask for? "But how do the thrusts feel?" I hear you ask. Well, I think you'll be quite surprised at how strong the thrusts are. They're certainly a lot stronger than my friend's thrusting rabbit. The range of the thrusting tempo is clear between each speed setting (sometimes normal vibes annoy me by having increments that aren't easily distinguished - but that's just me). The physical thrust range isn't huge but it doesn't need to be. There's a slight angle at the tip that fits me perfectly. It doesn't seem much of an angle compared to some G-spot vibes but it's perfect for the thrust the Swan generates. Although I can get overwhelmed by clit stim on a fairly high setting alone, combining the rabbit ears' second setting along with the fastest thrusts - that are so strong and seem to vibrate in a way they don't on a slower setting - did something to me I've never experienced before. I'm hooked! The only downside I can think of with the Swan is that it is quite noisy. Having said that I was doing a bit of last-minute 'research' for this review as my partner arrived home, plonked himself on the sofa and put the telly on unaware of what I was doing upstairs. This is a considered purchase but one I think that if you're looking for a thrusting rabbit is well worth it - especially if you can use one of Lovehoney's great discounts. This is not your average rabbit. It's a luxury toy that's actually backed by a 10-year extended guarantee (read the T&Cs in the booklet) on top of the usual one-year warranty. I've had little luck with rabbits over the years - the fit or vibes have rarely done it for me. This is a totally different animal, though. If you like rabbits you'll love this one. If you've never found 'the one', I think this could change your mind.
