Anne O Nomis spent four years researching the Dominatrix.

Her research included an internship in one of Australia's most famous dungeons in 2009, under tutelage of some 15 Dominatrices.

She holds a Masters degree in Comparative Art and Archaeology from UCL (University College London). During her studies she explored the ancient Goddess religion, the female flagellant Governess of the 17th-19th Century and Dominatrices of the bizarre underground of the 20th Century.
